Spring? Are You Lost?

Ever since I was a young girl, Spring has always been my favorite season. What's not to love about it? Flowers are blooming, snow is melting away, birds are back and singing in the mornings. It stays light out later. Everything turns green. It is time to put away heavy winter coats and sweaters and take out spring dresses and sandals. It is time for better in-season produce, baseball season, farmers markets, fairs, festivals, community days and taking the kids to the playground and parks. But do the dates of seasons really mean anything anymore?
Does everything turn green and stay green once winter is officially over? No, it does not. We had one more round of snow yesterday, April 9th, in the Philadelphia suburbs. The white stuff is coated the fresh green grass as I wrote this blog It was wet slushy snow and it was not fun. Winter is over and with that, winter weather should be over too.
It seems that Spring gets bypassed each year, either winter sticks around too long, or summer shows up too soon. You know those days, when it is hot and humid before the calendar says May the first. Or like this weekend, when it was cold, windy and snowy in almost the middle of April.
It is time for Spring, and I hope it gets here soon! Anyone else feel the same? Feel free to email me!
